early morning in Vancouver
Vancouver, BC, Canada

So, you probably don't think of Canada immediately for romance, especially with all the commercials on for sunny, warm beaches with a perfect couple drinking champagne at night and sailing on yachts by day, but trust me, it can be just as romantic, if not more.

British Columbia sets the scene for love, no matter your interests, from the snow-capped mountains to the salty sea breeze. You can spend the morning on the slopes and the afternoon beachcombing - or skip the outdoor adventures, stay inside, and try a new restaurant! Whether celebrating your honeymoon with stars in your eyes or hanging with your long-time significant other, British Columbia offers something for lovebirds of all ages, stages, and activity levels.

Luxury and Urban Exploration

Vancouver leaves you wanting for nothing, and if your idea of romance is stunning suites, exquisite dining, and private shopping - this Canadian city by the sea has got you covered. I love Vancouver so much, and you will too!

Stroll the shops on Alberni Street, or have a private shopper do the heavy lifting at Holt Renfrew (the Canadian equivalent of a Saks Fifth Avenue or Barney’s New York). If you and your love bond over mind-blowing cuisine: look no further because Vancouver has it all. Hit the ground running on a walking foodie tour (don’t miss a stop at the famous Japadog cart) or indulge in an intimate candlelit dinner. However you dine, be prepared for local and fresh cuisine, passionate chefs, and a global influence.

Wildlife & Adventure

The world-renowned Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains are just 90 minutes from Vancouver’s excellent city center. Home to the 2010 Winter Olympics, this stunning backdrop of towering mountains is equally impressive in Summer as it is in Winter. Hike, bike, and even zip line above a canopy of evergreen trees, spot black bears, and breathe in the fresh alpine air.

Swap your hiking boots for stilettos come evening, and take a turn sabering a bottle of champagne at Bearfoot Bistro in their underground wine cellar – or visit the Ketel One Ice Room to sample a flight of sub-zero vodka.

Remote Romance

There’s nothing more romantic than going off the grid with the one you love and feeling like you’re the only two people left in the world. Imagine that, but then add luxuriously appointed accommodation, gourmet fare, and even the odd spot of WiFi for those who can’t live without it! You get this at a remote fly-in wilderness resort in British Columbia’s deepest wilderness.

From the luxuriously appointed canvas tents of the Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge (nestled in the UNESCO-protected Clayoquot Sound Biosphere) to the floating sauna at Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort, located deep in the Broughton Archipelago – these wild places are hard to access and worth every penny. Even the journey is magnificent, with floatplanes or helicopters providing million-dollar views and delivering you to these remote destinations in style.

British Columbia - A Romantic Paradise Waiting to be Discovered

Does it rain a lot? Sure. Luckily there’s gourmet food, jaw-dropping scenery, and passionate locals waiting to share British Columbia’s best-kept secrets with you and the one you love. Steal a kiss under an umbrella, hold hands in a private helicopter, and marvel at the scenery (and your love) over a champagne picnic on a glacier. This is British Columbia; what’s not to love?
